About Us
Mission: Dignity Aid International is a US-registered non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to providing humanitarian aid with maximum dignity at minimum cost. We operate on the principle of equality for every recipient of aid and for every volunteer, employee, and partner. We strive to provide aid using volunteer labor wherever possible to maximize the effect of our many small private donors. And most importantly, we seek to respond to the most difficult challenges facing humanity with dignity and kindness.
History: Dignity Aid International (DAI) has been operating in the southern region of Ukraine since November 2022, partnering with local organizations and volunteers to provide a variety of humanitarian support for war-affected populations there, from food support for villages and hospitals to mental health groups and extracurricular English practice for kids. DAI was founded in November 2022 by Abe (Abraham) Collier and Sean (Angus) MacKinnon, who met volunteering in Greece in 2017 and who have since worked together on responses in Bangladesh and Moldova. Abe has a master’s degree in International Public Management and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy; he previously worked in management consulting before leaving the private sphere. Sean has more than twenty years of experience in international journalism and humanitarian work, from Hong Kong to Iraq; he received his undergraduate education in journalism.
